For over 10 years you have been our primary concern at MAD Security. We have been here to keep you safe as you have used technology to grow your business, support youremployees, and change the markets you serve.
In the face of COVID-19, which has now been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization, our commitment to you has not changed.
As the situation with COVID–19 is extremely dynamic we will continue to make proactive decisions that are grounded in care for our customers, partners, and employees, based in transparency and science, while also doing our part to help stop the spread of the virus.

Cybersecurity continues to be a hot topic for small and medium-sized businesses (SMB). It’s not uncommon for smaller businesses to believe that because of their size, “there isn’t much to steal,” so cybercriminals will simply not target them. This assumption couldn’t be further from the truth. The 2017 State of Cybersecurity in Small & Medium-Sized Business Report conducted annually by the Ponemon Institute clearly debunks these ideas, showing that 61 percent of smaller businesses experienced a cyberattack and 54 percent reported data breaches involving sensitive information in 2017. Smaller businesses obviously cannot match the spending on cybersecurity technologies or staff a full team of cybersecurity experts like their larger counterparts. Still, there are ways for smaller businesses to compensate for these budgetary and resource limitations to implement an effective comprehensive cybersecurity defense.

Most organizations have multiple partners with physical or logical access to their information and information systems, and few institutions have done assessments on the full scope of risk introduced. Access can range from cleaning contracts to vendors operating their entire IT infrastructure as a Managed Service Provider. We have found that organizations do not effectively account for these third-parties; below is a process for gathering cybersecurity vendor management requirements and building a program that fosters protection of sensitive data.
