Top 250 MSSPs for Fourth Consecutive Year,
Reinforcing Excellence in Cybersecurity

The Top 250 MSSPs for 2024 honorees were announced on October 15 at MSSP Alert Live. The 2024 MSSP Top 250 list reveal marks the first time the list has been unveiled at MSSP Alert’s annual live event. Honorees will also be celebrated at an evening party that coincides with MSSP Alert Live.

MSSP Alert, in its eighth annual survey, reported several key findings:

• MSSPs Security Operations Center (SOC)
  • 72% have in-house SOCs - up 7% from 2023
  • 22% are hybrid - down 1% from 2023
  • 4% completely outsource their SOCs - down from 8% in 2023
  • 1% do not have a SOC
• Cyberattack Trends: The most frequent attacks targeting MSSP customers in 2024 include phishing (96%), vulnerability (94%), and ransomware (92%).
• Cybersecurity Solutions: Larger MSSPs reported being 87% more likely to operate their Security Operations Center as a Service (SOCaaS) entirely in-house, versus 59% of smaller MSSPs. Nearly all large MSSPs, or 90%, provided their own MDR in-house, versus 66% of smaller MSSPs. 
• Growth. The Top 250 MSSPs continue to grow at a faster rate than the overall managed security services market.
• Revenues. MSSP revenues for the 2024 class of Top 250 MSSPs are projected to grow approximately 18% year over year.
• Geography: 63% of the 2024 Top 250 MSSPs serve customers in the Americas.
• Services. Vulnerability assessment and managed vulnerability ranked as the most important service offered by small and large MSSPs.
